Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation

This video was created to help prepare you for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. You are invited to watch, listen and reflect on the words from scripture as well as the Examination of Conscience.

Confession is available Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., and every second Thursday of the month from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., or call the church office at 808-973-2211 to schedule an appointment.
Confession is held in the Church.
As you enter go to the right, and you will see the kneeler and screen/curtain in the corridor under the Bell Tower.

Acts of Contrition
Either of these prayers may be said as an Act of Contrition during the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

1. O my God, I am sorry for my sins, in choosing to do wrong and in failing to do good. I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, suffered and died for us. In His name, my God, have mercy.

2. Father of mercy, like the prodigal son, I return to you and say: “I have sinned against you and am no longer worthy to be called your child.” Jesus Christ, Savior of the world, I pray with the repentant thief to whom you promised Paradise: “Lord, remember me in your kingdom.” Holy Spirit, fountain of love, I call on you with trust: “Purify my heart, and help me to walk as a child of light.”
